Encrypt Your Email Address
Use this generator to quickly and easily generate an email address link that is encrypted. This will hide your email from Spambots and email harvesters.
You can use this tool to generate three types of email links:
- A standard email hyperlink,
- An HTML encrypted email hyperlink - This will work for all browsers, but is low security,
- A JavaScript encryption - This is the most secure. We have additionally encoded the link text using HTML for extra security.
We have developed the above scripts to create an email link that is invisible to spambot email harvesters.
By using these scripts, you may eliminate spam, yet still post your contact email address online.
The three types of email links you may generate are:
- Plain email link (No encryption)
- HTML encryption (Simple and works with non-JavaScript enabled browsers)
- JavaScript Encryption (A more complex algorithm that uses JavaScript)
WordPress
To use these scripts in WordPress, you must use the HTML mode. In addition, for some versions of WordPress, you may need to use a plugin to allow you to post raw HTML. The raw html plugin lets you do this. Then you can put JavaScript coding inside of ‘the loop’ – that is, in pages or on posts.
